Frankie’s meatball recipe:

1 cup Seasoned breadcrumbs

1/2 cup Grated Parmesan or Romano cheese (optional)

2 tablespoons Fresh chopped basil leaves

24 ounces Meatloaf mix, or 8 ounces each of ground beef, pork, and veal

2 teaspoons Minced garlic

1 cup Warm water

Pinch of Crushed red pepper

1 Egg

Salt and Pepper

Vegetable oil, for frying

In a large mixing bowl, combined breadcrumbs, cheese, basil, and garlic. Mix well. Add the ground meat, water, and pepper flakes, then using clean hands, fully combine the mixture. Add egg along with salt and pepper to taste. Mix once more, then form into meatballs.

Meanwhile, fill a large skillet with 1 inch of vegetable oil and place over medium heat. Add formed meatballs to the skillet, then brown on all sides until meatballs are fully cooked throughout. Transfer cooked meatballs to a cooling rack set over a sheet pan to drain, then add to your favorite sauce and enjoy.
